As a former contributor back in 90'-91', I can say that The Minuteman is one of the best campus newspapers in the country. I was going to write a long letter about all the things that I personally find to be questionable gramatically, morally, ethically etc... with The Minuteman but I would have to re-write nearly the entire issue. I just dont have the time on my hands. That being said, this is not meant as an angry response. I will tell you, however, as a fellow human being that it is not any persons place to tell any other person that who they are or what they do is wrong. We all share this campus, this country and this planet. Everywhere you look you see people that are unimagineably different than yourself and it is a beautiful sight. Yet still, you seem to think that you have the freedom to spread the word of hate. That is simply all this is. You are not using The Minuteman as a forum for [i]free [/i]speach, but as a forum for [i]hate[/i] speach. That is not to say that there are not some interesting articles in there, and I think that there is alot of potential for this to be an informative newsletter. I am not one who would say that The Miunteman should be discontinued or that you should burn in hell, but I think that you should show more respect for the people that surround you be them gay, straight, bi, trans, black, asian, white, tall, short, depressed, indian, german, obese, anorexic, blonde, brunette, etc etc etc... It would be silly for me to tell you not to have the opinions that you have, because then I would be no better than you. I encourage a diversity of opinion, it keeps the world interesting, but I simply cannot respect someone who uses hate to express what they believe and who cannot find reason to respect their fellow citizens of earth. I write to you, brad, not as a caucasion, blonde haired, blue eyed, gay, man who is offended by the manner in which you express your views, but as a human being whom is disappointed to see one of his brothers speak with such hate and contempt toward others. I hope you open your mind to differences in lifestyle and opinion. You might be pleasantly surprised at seeing how many good people you seem to have turned your back on.
