PITTSFIELD-- Jennifer Lighten, 33, found herself in a sticky situation on Mar. 10, when her wife Stephanie Lighten, 26 allegedly assaulted and attempted to forcibly inseminate her with her brother’s sperm.
According to Jennifer’s testimony to police, a “liquored up” Stephanie attacked her in the couple’s Morningside apartment, pinning her down on a couch and threatening to impregnate her with a “turkey baster” full of semen. Jennifer managed to escape, and locked herself in the bathroom where Stephanie broke down the door. The fight escalated when Jennifer fled to her car and her wife “jumped on the side of their vehicle, swung the door open and made [Jennifer] stop,” said Pittsfield Police Officer Kipp D. Steinman Witnesses in the neighborhood said the couple’s unruly behavior nearly resulted in a car accident. Police arriving on the scene found Stephanie’s brother’s semen in a sealed container and a large syringe with a catheter tip in the couple’s apartment. Jennifer told police that “[Stephanie] has been talking about trying to impregnate [her] for some time.” Despite this, Jennifer declined to press rape charges, insisting that she did not really believe that “Stephanie was going to sexually assault her with the syringe.” The pretrial hearing is currently scheduled for April 29.
